AsFlavor: Structure101g for Flex and Actionscript
18. October 2009
Together with “The Structure Guys” from Headway Software we developed an Actionscript “flavor” for their latest Structure101 product family member Structure101g(eneric). AsFlavor makes the same esteemed structural and architectural analysis functionality available to the Flex and Actionscript community, that is well known to Java and C++ developers since years.
Structure101g allows you to analyze the dependencies in you code and helps you to identify tangles and unwanted references between particular parts of your codebase.
Furthermore it allows you to create architectural diagrams that let you define the desired layering and helps you to maintain structure and identify dependency violations.
Besides viewing dependencies on a package and class level you can also drill down into classes and even view call dependencies between methods of a class.
For more information or an early access version of that flavor don’t hesitate to drop me a note.

Version 0.2 was released this week which allows to import IDEA or FlexBuilder projects and saves you from the hassle to configure everything manually.
We are still working on further improvements.
Seems like a really useful idea. It’s a shame the FlexBuilder component does not work. Best achievement with the plug-in is:
[Err] Caused by: unable to open ‘services-config.xml’
