If you are interested in disruptive technologies such as AI, IoT, Big Data, Chatbots, AR/VR, Blockchain, Space Mining and their practical implications, then Digital Future meetup series is a must-see. Catalysts and factory300 are gathering experts from diverse industry fields that present various interesting topics together. Talks are mixed, some more and some less technical, so visitors with all backgrounds can benefit from it.
The last Digital Future Meetup was held on July 4th with, as usual, 3 talks:
- Title of the first talk was “AI – from research to production” presented by the leader of Emerging Technologies segment @Catalysts, Bernhard Niedermayer. Bernhard covered possible reasons why AI techniques can/cannot be used for projects. In order to understand the structure and opinion of visitors more he used live voting with DirectPoll and then tailored his explanations based on the results. He also gave an outlook on different levels of automatization based on the example of an autonomous car.
- The second talk was held by Andreas Rath, CEO of Ondewo. Ondewo is creating an AI platform for human-like conversations with machines. Andreas showed the different components involved in natural language processing and how they intersect with other AI applications. Additionally, as he said, their AI can actually understand Austrian dialects. 😀
- The third talk, “A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the OpenShift Galaxy”, was held together by Martin Strigl (leader of Infrastructure segment @Catalysts) & Christoph Kofler (from gepardec). This talk was about OpenShift. Christoph held the first part, a live visualization of why OpenShift developed and how it fits the deployment ecosystem, done with Duplo & Lego. The second part was an extensive QA with Martin who gave in-depth answers to all questions from the audience.
All in all, we strive to show diverse topics and find interesting presenters for each Digital Future Meetup. The date for the next one is already fixed -> 05.09.2018.
